Gretchen Ho is a true ‘woman-in-action’. Check out her awesome ‘buwis-buhay’ photos during her recent hiking trip!
Welcoming a new year is so much more than changing a calendar and going back to our pending responsibilities. It’s a symbol of a fresh start, new paths to take, and a blank canvass to fill with our own hopes and dreams. For some, it might not mean that much. But for people who have experienced a lot of obstacles and problems through 2018, the new year is filled of hope.
Most of us probably made ambitious new year’s resolutions that we would like to incorporate into our life. Maybe it’s as simple as getting up early, or the persistent fitness goals we’ve set since time immemorial, or being more adventurous and travel to places you’ll find different.
For TV host/volleyball player Gretchen Ho, being adventurous isn’t exactly a ‘new year’s resolution’. This girl-next-door has always been the person who chases her passion, and that includes adventures. Gretchen always introduces herself as a woman-in-action, and her latest Instagram posts prove it as well.
On January 8, the ABS-CBN host posted a photo of her hike to Mt. Pamitinan. This famous hiking location is found at Brgy. Wawa, Rodriguez, Rizal. Mt. Pamitinan is a dream mountain to climb in the Philippines for all hikers because of its popular spot for the ‘buwis-buhay’ shot which is the first summit. Of course, Gretchen did not hesitate to get an awesome photo at the summit which definitely looks terrifying.
She posted her version of the ‘buwis-buhay’ shot on January 9, “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. Traveling light through life. Always. This is #MountPamitinan’s famous “buwis-buhay” shot. Don’t worry I was very careful :)) Check out my IG story highlight — “Mt. Pamitinan” to see how we did this shot!”
You can see why they call it like that! Anyone who attempts this shot could easily fall off the cliff if not careful. But Gretchen didn’t seem fazed by this as she smile her signature grin indicating how much she enjoys the moment. Followers of the host were all amazed at her courage and adventurousness–they couldn’t even look at the photo without being nauseous themselves!
It’s 2019, and for Gretchen, this hike was like starting on the right foot, “Started my year right. All is well, all is well.” We hope that the rest of the year brings the same energy for everyone else!
