Remember the selfless father in viral Jollibee photo? This is his life now.

Do you remember Ryan Arebuabo? He was the selfless father who was content to watch his two daughters eat their Jollibee meals, even though his own plate was empty. The 38-year-old dad could have brought the girls somewhere cheaper like a carinderia or a cheap diner, but it was obvious the selfless father wanted something more special for the kids’ graduation.

This touching gesture was captured by netizen Jhunnel Sarajan, allowing people from all walks of life to learn of the father’s plight, and in effect allowing these people to extend help to Ryan and his whole family.

After his sister helped Ryan set up a bank account, donations started pouring in. He used this money, together with the profit he earns from his mini sari-sari store and the 4Ps allowance he receives, to provide for the family.

The selfless father and his beloved daughters still reside in their 4-square-meter makeshift home, but with the donations sent his way the father purchased new walls, a roof, and a new door for their humble abode!

Just how much did Tatay Ryan gain from these kind donations? Well, just imagine he was able to purchase two tricycles, which he now rents out! He was also able to raise the capital of his sari-sari store, allowing him to earn P500 on the daily, when he used to earn just around P100-P200.

As if all these isn’t enough, Piolo Pascual even pledged to pay for the two girls’ schooling in a private school! This is after the Kapamilya heartthrob played the role of Tatay Ryan in an MMK episode.

A local book store will also sponsor the daughters’ education supplies!

Quite amazingly, his simple, selfless gesture of bringing his kids to eat Chickenjoy would end up turning their whole lives around!
